The Milk Mob is a nonprofit dedicated to breastfeeding education for outpatient breastfeeding supporters. Our 16-hour 2-day Breastfeeding Champion Training is basic, clinically-focused breastfeeding training for any person who is a community breastfeeding supporter. We provide instruction on how to answer the most common breastfeeding questions that a breastfeeding mother and her family have throughout the course of lactation, through toddlerhood and beyond.

Breastfeeding Champions who complete the OBC program are trained to provide excellent telephone and face-to-face support for basic breastfeeding problems. They also learn the first steps in helping families with more complicated issues who are waiting to be seen by a lactation specialist. The OBC course is comprehensive entry-level training for anyone pursuing Lactation Consultant certification.

All Participants Receive:
• Triage tools to answer the most common breastfeeding questions
• Breastfeeding education handouts
• PDF copies of all lectures
• A curriculum book designed for the Outpatient Breastfeeding Champion
• A certificate of attendance
• A 3-Year Milk Mob Membership

This training program is beneficial for RNs, medical office staff, physicians and other providers, pharmacists, public health nurses, doulas, midwives, home visitors, WIC peer counselors, nutritionists, LLL Leaders, health professional students and others who help mothers breastfeed.
