Susan Luddington will provide a full day of information on kangaroo care. She is a Carl W. and Margaret Davis Walter Professor of Pediatric Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OHIO
The conference will provide the participant with info. about the origins of Kangarooo Care as well as the physiological benefits to infants and their parents.

The participant will be able to know the benefits of non-separation and discuss the effects of Kangaroo care on hormone secretion, neurotransmitter release, cortisol, pain, sleep and brain development.

Target Audience
Any RN or LPN:
-working with lactating women
-interested in obtaining accurate, current information about lactation management
-who wants to become a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC)
-preparing to become a board certified lactation consultant

-Complete written assignment (2 one-page essays are assigned at registration)
