This five-day program is designed for individuals who are already credentialed as an IBCLC or have attended a comprehensive professional breastfeeding education program within the past 3-5 years. These individuals should have a strong background in working clinically with breastfeeding families. A teaching background is also desireable.

The date for this conference is Friday, September 10, 2010, at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. CERPs and CEUs are being applied for. The cost will be $75 for members and $100 for non-members.

Susan Luddington will provide a full day of information on kangaroo care. She is a Carl W. and Margaret Davis Walter Professor of Pediatric Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OHIO
The conference will provide the participant with info. about the origins of Kangarooo Care as well as the physiological benefits to infants and their parents.
The participant will be able to know the benefits of non-separation and discuss the effects of Kangaroo care on hormone secretion, neurotransmitter release, cortisol, pain, sleep and brain development.
