Course Description:
If you support breastfeeding, you then recognize the need to improve breastfeeding outcomes. Join Dawn M. Kersula as she provides strategies to address the current challenges of promotion, protection and support of breastfeeding. This comprehensive day will include the latest information on:

* Latch techniques: Effective teaching and assessment strategies
* Hospital practices that increase breastfeeding duration
* Increasing milk supply right from the start
* How 21st Century obstetric challenges affect the mother/baby dyad

This intensive course enables participants to provide accurate, current and consistent information about breastfeeding and lactation to expectant and new families.

All areas of the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners exam grid are included, and the course content is based on current scientific research as it applies to “best practice” issues in the clinical setting.

This course fulfills the theoretical hours for IBLCE exam eligibility, in addition to providing a great review for IBCLCs who are recertifying by CERPs or exam.
