The 2007 and 2009 symposia was funded in part by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Women’s Health. The Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments and the WIC Program are hosting a Conference to promote Breastfeeding. This Conference will be held at the Abbey in Canon City on April 15, 2010.

Featured speakers include:
Marianne Neifert, M.D. (Dr. Mom) and Maya Bunik, M.D., MSPH.

Dr. Neifert, a pediatrician who is known nationally as Dr. Mom, is an acclaimed motivational speaker who addresses topics on life balance, positive parenting, and breastfeeding. She has authored the newly released Great Expectations: The Essential Guide to Breastfeeding.
