The conference will feature international speakers discussing the latest research into the biology of mother-infant behaviour and implications for delivery, postnatal care, breastfeeding support etc. Confirmed speakers include from South Africa, Dr Nils Bergman (skin-to-skin care and neuroscience); from Sweden, Professor Kerstin Uvnas-Moberg (oxytocin and bonding); from New Mexico USA, Professor Wenda Trevathan (instinctive mothering) and from UK Dr Susanne Colson (biological nurturing) and Professor Helen Ball (sleep proximity and lactation biology).
